Stormy Weather, Same Old Pattern Tropical Storm Bertha has developed along the US Gulf coast, threatening heavy rain and storm surge flooding in parts of Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana.
This is the second tropical storm of the season, following closely on the heels of Tropical Storm Arthur last month.
Bertha's trajectory is characteristic of early season storms: slow moving and prone to stalling or meandering, bringing prolonged periods of heavy rain to coastal areas before finally making landfall.
